Papa Soul Talkin’

Release date: November 2012

In this second album, Laurent takes a stand as both a jazz and a soul musician, revealing his various skills as a musician, singer, songwriter and arranger.

This is not a jazz record….
Its evocative title leaves no doubt. Papa Soul Talkin’, thirteen pieces including nine originals, made with the purpose to move and to make people dance. A hedonistic journey into the old school world, a quest for the ultimate groove. Daniel Romeo, artistic producer, brings energy to the sound and efficiency to the forms.

… but this is a jazz record!
It is performed by some of the most experienced jazzmen around, expressing themselves freely and uncompromisingly, with the togetherness brought by many concerts. The live recording and the choice of acoustic instruments reinforce its identity.

An acoustic soul-jazz album, eventually.
